Sexy Summer Strands

In Uncategorized on 2011 at 0000

Although avid swimmers are familiar with the tightening and toning advantages of their sport,
they’re equally acquainted with the less-beautiful disadvantages:  think dry, brittle, discolored hair
and irritated, flaky scalp.  Besides, green hair is so-not sexy.  The good news for every insatiable
swimmer is that there’s MalibuC, leader in the natural salon treatment category and
creator of Malibu C Swimmers Weekly Solution.  How the mermaid crowd has lived so long
without this highly potent, nature-identical vitamin complex will always be a mystery, but today’s
water sport enthusiasts don’t have to.

Malibu C works instantly to combat the two saboteurs of beautiful, sexy hair for swimmers –
chlorine and trace residual lime – leaving locks that are purified and rejuvenated.

Formulated using nature’s own freshly activated Vitamin C, Malibu C draws these malicious
minerals to the surface where they are gently washed away.  At the same time, rich, nourishing
botanicals sooth, hydrate and restore the hair and scalp that have been damaged by pool water.
Hair is immediately transformed with healthy shine, strength, renewed manageability and
swinging movement.  Sexy body, meet sexy hair – with Malibu C, help has definitely arrived!

Silky Skin Can Be Had Quickly With This World-Inspired Body Scrub

In Uncategorized on 2011 at 0000

Joining the skin-sloughing systems aid in making skin smooth is Bamboo & Black Sesame Body Scrub.  This journey begins without ever removing the top of the container as the Asian inspired packaging with a miniature traditional Chinese coin on an elasticized red thread is a major indication of the cultural encounter that rests inside each 9.5oz pot.  Intriguing in its exterior, it’s safe to judge this book by the cover.

Opening this product reveals a lovely fragrance.  At first it’s hard to place as it is more of a natural, unisex type scent.  The texture is unique in that it is dense indicating there could be a good number of high moisture ingredients.  A small hand scoop took my first experience to another level entirely while trying to decipher the fragrance components.  More time with the product reveled answers to the immediate mysteries-crushed adzuki beans, powdered bamboo, real shiitake mushrooms, black sesame oils and organic oils.  Ahhhhh, here we go.

Following a age-old personal application ritual, the exotic blend was worked into my skin with small circular motions.  As the dry surface area skin was released, a wonderful bouquet of oils permeated and conditioned my then dry skin.  The organic cane sugar proved positive in creating the right skin texture for conditioning delivery.

The product has several note-worthy credits in addition to the details already shared.

  • Vegan
  • Uses some organic ingredients
  • Natural oils
  • Product packaging is recyclable
  • Certified 100% phthalate-free

This is just the short list…there is so much more!  Belle Lucce has a sure winner with this scrub as it can be used for so many different purposes including mani-pedi, show exfoliation, body treatments and pre-tanning conditioning.  The scrub retails for $31.00.  I enjoyed my experience with this hybrid brand of body scrubs with guilt-free use and beautiful skin afterward.  Gift this product or keep it for yourself.

Angel Sanchez Bridal Face: Get The Look With Clarins Artist Jean Fayard

In Uncategorized on 2011 at 0000

Here is the beautiful look that Jean Fayard, Clarins Make-up Artist, created for the 2013 Angel Sanchez bridal collection during bridal week which took place in New York last week. Soft, light, and romantic were the keywords of this bridal collection. Angel Sanchez worked with materials to create intricate and romantic embroideries for a timeless elegance with a unique, modern twist.

Jean was inspired by Angel’s architectural creations: chic and feminine with an edge. Working with Angel, she imagined a subtle icy turquoise look based on a flawless complexion and touches of radiant light.

Skin:

First, the skin was prepped with Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch to fill in any imperfections and help hold foundation. Next, Jean used the Everlasting Foundation to even the skin without creating a mask. Her tip is to apply the fluid foundation with a brush to easily blend it for a natural result. For the blush, she generously applied Blush Prodige in Soft Peach from the apples of the cheeks swept up toward the hairline for a healthy natural glow. She then topped it off with loose powder and sprayed the Clarins Fix’ Makeup that helps makeup stay on.

Eyes:

The Eyes were the stars of this look! Jean started with the Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base to prep the eyelids. Then, playing with three eye shadows, the Turquoise and White from the Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in 08 blue skyand the Silver from the Eye Quartet Mineral Palette in 03 graphites, Jean created a frozen feel, blending the colors for a subtle yet edgy result. She then lined the eye with the Eye Pencil in Black applied with a small brush for a soft line at lash, then smudged a bit of the Turquoise eye shadow over the liner on the top and bottom corner at lash line. To add intensity to the eyes, Jean added fake lashes one by one, only at the outer corner of the eyes. One minimal coat of Instant Definition Mascara in Black was all that was needed to finish the eyes. She then gave some soft definition to the brows using the Pro Palette EyeBrow Kit before lightly brushing them with a silver tint – to create a seamless look with the hair. To top it off, Jean used appliqué elements from the dresses on the forehead above one eye to give a high fashion runaway feel to the look.

 Lips:

Soft nude lips completed the look with a Lip Definer pencil in nude, Rouge Prodige lipstick in Nude and Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector 03.

Expert Advice For When Traveling To Brazil: Jen Rutledge’s Short Guide To Brazilian Waxing

In Uncategorized on 2011 at 0000

As the weather gets warmer, garments and other facets of life take on a lighter everyday role.  This maintenance ritual will also include the removal of hair all over the body and down there.  The thought of the Brazilian wax sends shivers through the spines of those on the prowl and boosts confidence for those who sport the exotic smooth sensation.  Sharing with us her professional insights on the ritual is west coast expert Jen Rutledge.

When is the most popular season for Brazilian waxing. The most popular season for Brazilian Waxing is Spring-Summer.  My busiest months are March-August. Vacation time=Hair Free!!

What is the lure toward this exotic service?  When do women have it done?  I think the lure towards this service is sexiness.  Women of all ages, races and sizes can feel sexy in just 10-15 minutes by removing their bikini hair. Women have it done because it makes them feel clean and amazing!

For the first time client, what should they expect when they go in for their first Brazilian?  The first time a woman gets a Brazilian Wax, 90% of the time, they are nervous.  Some tips on care before waxing are:  Don’t get waxed the week before your period, don’t drink alcohol the night before, no tanning beds or sun for 24 hrs, and take 2 Advil 1 hour before the service is performed.

How often should a person have this done? Is it better to have it maintained or to grow out and start again?  I recommend clients get waxed every 4-6 weeks.  The hair will remain smooth about 2-3 weeks after being waxed.  The hair must then grow out another 2 weeks.  Depending on the client, 4-6 weeks is the average time between sessions.

What kind of pain is involved with this process? What can someone do to prepare for the sensations affiliated with the service?   The pain varies from client to client. Taking 2 Advil an hour before helps.   Also, never wax the week before your period, as your skin is extra sensitive.   Do not drink alcohol the night before or use a tanning bed for 24 hrs before/after.

Special thanks to Jen Rutledge for taking time to answer our questions.  Ladies, happy Brazilian to you!

Have a beautiful week!
